Statement of Faith

The Scripture

We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as verbally inspired of God. Every part of the Scripture, as they appeared in the original manuscripts, is fully and equally covered by this divine inspiration. Therefore, the Bible is inerrant, necessary, sufficient and fully authoritative in all what it affirms. (John 17:8, 17; 2Timothy 3:16; 2Peter 1:21)

We believe in the One and the only true God who eternally exists in three distinct Persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, having precisely the same nature (essence) and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Matthew 28:18, 19; 2Corinthians 13:14)

The Godhead

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the Creator of all things. He is the Father of all creation (1 Corinthians 8:6). He is Sovereign in creation, providence and redemption (Romans 11:36). He is the ruler of all things and He orders and directs all things according to his own purpose, pleasure, and glory (Psalm 103:19; Psalm 42:2, 7, 8). As an infinitely loving Father, He graciously provides salvation to lost men and women in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 1:9). He saves from sin and eternal damnation all who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrenders to His Lordship. He adopts such as His own and He becomes their Father (John 1:12; Romans 8:15).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, being very and eternal God, of one substance and equal with the Father.

God the Son

Jesus Christ and His work

We believe that when the fullness of time has come, the second person of the Godhead according to the will of God has volunteered Himself to come as the Messiah to this sinful world. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary with all the essential properties of a man, yet without sin. The two distinct natures, His deity and His humanity were perfectly joined together in one person without confounding with each other. Thus, in His incarnation, He is fully God and fully man. Though He did not fully appear like God, but made Himself of no reputation as God, instead He appeared like a servant of God, by concealing some of His attributes. He honored the divine law by His personal and perfect obedience.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice on the cross under the divine wrath and thus paid in full for the atonement of our sins. He was bodily resurrected from the dead and He ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He lives forever to make intercession for His people as the Great High Priest. He is the only mediator between God and man; the Prophet, Priest and King. He is the head of the Church, His body. He is now building His church. We eagerly believe in the imminent bodily return of the Lord to receive His Church. (1Corinthians 15:1-3; 1Peter 1:18-19; Hebrews 5:5-6; 1Timothy 2:5), to establish His Kingdom and to judge all those who failed to put their trust in Him as Lord and Savior.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with the Father and the Son, possessing all the attributes of God.

The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, righteousness and judgment; glorifies Jesus Christ; restrains evil in the world; He regenerates all believers and baptizes them into the body of Christ. He indwells and anoints all who are saved; seals them to the day of redemption; fills each yielded believer with power and wisdom; and distributes gifts to all believers for service. (John 14:16-17; John 16:7-15; 1Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 5:18; Acts 1:8)

God the Holy Spirit

Man

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God and that by voluntary transgression fell into sin, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Because of the fall, every child born in this world is with a sinful nature and there is none who is good and righteous before God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Romans 3:10-12, 23; Romans 5:17-18; Romans 6:23). Sin devastating in nature

We believe that every person is born with a Sin nature into this world. This word sin means “missing the mark; falling short, or a departure”. The main idea is that man has departed from God’s standard of holiness. (Rom 3:23; 14:23; James 4:17; 1 John 3:4)

Everything that a man does is detestable in the sight of God because it flows from his sinful nature. By nature, we are children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3). Therefore, every man is guilty before God and is subject to God’s judgement.

Sin

Salvation

We believe that salvation is solely by the grace of God, on the basis Christ’s redemptive and finished work on the cross. Nothing on man’s part can avail salvation but the shed blood of Jesus alone can atone for man’s sin. No one can reach heaven or attain salvation by good works, it is the gift of God and it is through Jesus Christ alone. Whoever repents of their sins and trusts Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins – receives the new birth, becomes a partaker of the divine nature and becomes a child of God. The security and assurance of salvation of a believer is grounded wholly upon the testimony of God’s written Word (John 1:12; John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:12, 23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; 2 Peter 1:3-4; 1 John 5:13). In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

We believe that man is born in the flesh only once, will die once and then faces judgement and eternity. Both heaven and hell are real and everlasting. (Hebrews 9:27; Daniel 12:2; Hebrews 10:39; Revelation 14:9-10; Revelation 20:15)

Eternity

Church

We believe that the Church is the spiritual body of Jesus Christ and that Christ is the head of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22). The Church is the family of God (Ephesians 2:19) which consists of all true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ as its members. The Church has two fold aspects: the universal church consisting of all believers worldwide (Ephesians 1:22-23), and the local church consisting of believers in a specific location. We believe in the establishment of the local churches as taught in the New Testament passages (Acts 14:23, 27; 20:17, 28; Galatians 1:2; Philippians 1:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:1). Every believer should be a part of a particular local Church, committed to the fellowship with the local believers. Each believer should function as an active member according to the grace given by God for the edification of the other believers in the particular local Church.

We believe in the autonomy of the local church. Every local Church is self-governing under the leadership of the elders assisted by the deacons (Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5) whom must meet biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:13). There is no Hierarchical structure in the body of Christ. All members are equal. The Church leaders should lead as the servants of Christ setting an example to the Church (1 Peter 5:1-3) and all the members must submit to the Church leadership (Hebrews 13:7, 17).
