The Creation
The Story
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Over six days, God spoke and created light, the sky, land and seas, plants, the sun, moon and stars, animals, and finally humans. God created everything perfectly and saw that it was good. On the seventh day, God rested from all His work and blessed that day, making it holy.
Key Bible Verses
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
Genesis 1:27
The Moral of the Story
God's creation shows us His incredible power and love. Even though God is so powerful that He created the entire universe just by speaking, He knows each one of us by name and cares about us personally. Everything God makes is good and has a purpose.
How to Honor and Glorify God
We can glorify God by taking care of His creation, being thankful for the beautiful world He made, and remembering that we are created in His image. Just as God rested on the seventh day, we should also set aside time to rest and worship Him. When we look at the stars, mountains, oceans, and all living things, we can praise God for His amazing creativity and power.
